As I’ve got older, I have truly appreciated designer pieces. You don’t just buy it for the name, you buy it for the quality and how special it makes you feel when you wear it.
There is something that makes you feel really good when you’re wearing designer pieces. They obviously come with a heavier price tag than your usual high street pieces, so the way I have found I have been able to incorporate designer pieces in to my wardrobe is with designer accessories. I also find I will get more wear out of accessories than clothing. I don’t like to wear the same thing too frequently, but with accessories, I use my few favourite bags all the time.
My favourite thing about styling is being able to mix higher end and high street pieces, blending them together and creating something which looks a lot more expensive than it is.
The jumper, bag and trainers are from Farfetch, who offers the world’s greatest selection of luxury designer fashion for men and women on one online platform.

My top tips for purchasing designer accessories…
- Research! Look around, find the perfect one. There will often be a lot of variations, maybe colour, hardware etc, so find the one.
- Shop around. Different retailers prices will vary, have a thorough browse for the best price!
- Choose something you will wear a lot. There’s no point investing in something which you’ll actually never use. You’ve spent your hard earned cash on it, wear it! My first designer purchase was the Gucci Soho bag, I went for the black one and I use it ALL THE TIME!
- Look after it. Obviously use it and get the most wear out of it, but be sensible and show it love! If you’re heading for a big night out, I wouldn’t bother!
