Earlier in the week, I visited The Dressing Room which is a boutique store in my local city, St Albans. For anyone who loves dressing up, trying on clothes, styling looks, it was the dream morning!
From watches and jewellery, to jeans and jackets, they have plenty of high end high street brands on offer to tickle everyone’s taste buds. The store is so well laid out, mainly in colour schemes, but also, casual and more evening wear, making it very clear where you want to head to if you’re after something particular. I was instantly drawn to the rail of casual muted tones, white, grey and pale pink, seriously, what is not to love! This is where I picked the majority of my favourite pieces from!
STYLING WITH THE DRESSING ROOM AND CLUSE WATCHES
My task for the morning was to style 3 outfits, each with a Cluse watch. I already have a small collection of Cluse watches. I’m sure a lot of you will be familiar with the brand already, but Cluse create timepieces that represent elegance and minimalism, and that’s actually how I quite like to style myself too. I don’t think there is any watch from their collection, that I don’t like!
I was like a kid in a candy shop! I picked out all of my favourite things, then styled up the looks! I went for 2 casual looks and then something a little dressier for the 3rd look.
Jumper, jeans and boots. Can you go wrong? No, I don’t think you can, especially with this grey tonal combo. A quality roll neck is an absolute wardrobe staple for this time of year. Wear it alone, or wear it under other jumpers and jackets, you want to invest in a piece like this as it’s a timeless piece you can reach for every winter.
I teamed the jumper up with a pair of J Brand coated jeans. These jeans would be an investment pieces and they’re SO comfortable, soft and stretchy and fit so well, everything you want in a pair of jeans! Then let’s just take a moment for the bag and boots. I haven’t stopped thinking about this bag since I first saw it, and the Ash boots, are the definition of died-and-gone-to-shoe-heaven. Just like the jeans, the boots were super comfy and fitted lovely. The astrology prints are huge this season! I chose the La Roche Petit watch for this look as I really wanted to tie in all of the gold detailing, the marble face is gorgeous too.
This is more of a ‘brunch/shopping/drinks’ look, a little more than casual. I’ve gone for another pair of J Brand jeans, because they fit so well, this time in a black velvet. Lovely and luxe for this time of year! You know me, I love a slogan tee, so there was no holding back on choosing this cute bad girl tee. This is what I love about styling, the jeans and tee, are your casual everyday staples, but you can immediately add the sass with this jacket and accessories! This faux fur jacket is LOVELY.
Kate Moss wears this brand of scarfs, so if it’s good enough for her, then I’m more than happy to wear it! Another pair of awesome boots! As a serious ankle boot fanatic, The Dressing Room had an amazing choice and some truly gorgeous pairs! The classic La Boheme Silver Mesh watch came in to play for this outfit, this is probably my favourite cluse style, the very classic, simple, elegant and minimalistic!
This is the dressier look, if I was going for dinner and drinks, I’d go for something like this I absolutely love this girly grunge style and mixing lace dresses with some chunky cool boots! This Day Birger Et Mikkelsen Dress is a classic, black lace dresses are pretty ageless and you can whip them out this time every year! These boots are from the Kendall and Kylie collection, another pair to add to my wish list! The detailing and shape of these boots are incredible! For the final watch choice, it had to be the Minuit Rose Gold Mesh watch, such a gorgeous shade and it works so well with the stunning Bell & Fox bag!
Which outfit is your favourite? I really can’t decide between 1 and 2!
The Dressing Room also have stylists in store, on hand to help you to make your choices, so if you’re a little indecisive like me, it’s super helpful to have a stylist’s opinion! Oh and the gift wrap is INCREDIBLE if you’re a stationery/gift wrap geek like me 😉
You should come and visit St Albans! It’s an 18 minute train journey from London St Pancras, there are so many lovely restaurants, shops, plenty of good people watching spots, and if you do come, you MUST visit the pudding stop, the clue is in the name!
