HOW I’VE BEEN USING KENRA ON MY HAIR
I love all things hair, and I think I can honestly say, I’ve tried and tested A LOT of hair products over the last 10 years, I feel like this is one of my areas of expertise, she says! When I left school, I started my apprenticeship in a hair dressers so I’ve always been really passionate about hair! There’s a fun fact for you that you probably didn’t know! 😉 Over the last week or so, I’ve been using Kenra which is new to me!
Just a quick little intro to the brand, Kenra was founded in 1929 and is a professional product, meaning you can only get it in salons, rather than being able to pick it up in Boots or Superdrug. They pride themselves on having simple, straightforward and easy to use products, solving every day hair care needs.
I’m going to run you through how I’ve been using the Kenra products and how I’ve incorporated them in to my hair care routine!
Hair wash day…
Step 1 – I cleanse my hair with the Revive Shampoo and Revive Conditioner. This smells insane, and I can’t put my finger on what it smells of, slightly coconutty, but nothing over powering. You get a really rich lather from the shampoo!
Step 2 – After towel drying and combing through, I spritz the Blow-Dry Spray through my hair. The Blow-Dry Spray helps reduce drying time, this is a real bonus point for me as my hair takes SO long to dry. So long that it actually aches my arms! It also has protects the hair from the heat from the hairdryer, smoothes, de-frizzes, resists humidity, it is light weight and doesn’t leave any residue on the hair.
Step 3 – Blow dry hair with paddle brush. I use a paddle brush because it’s super easy and it helps to smooth my frizz!
Step 4 – Now my hair is all dry and ready to be styled. I spritz the Hot Spray before straightening or waving. I spray each section as I go. I NEVER go without heat protection, you wouldn’t get something hot out of the oven without oven gloves, so why would you put excess heat on your hair without protection?! As I have my hair bleached, I really have to look after it and protect it from the heat tools as the heat damages it so much. The Hot Spray also provides a durable hold so it holds the style in! Perfect if you’re creating waves that you want to last all day! It leaves a nice shine on the hair too!
Step 5 – Once I have styled my hair, I always like to add a little something to give it some texture and movement! This is the Dry Texture Spray becomes my best friend, I spray all over my hair and give it a zoosh up!
TA-DAH! All done!
Non hair wash days…
I will leave my hair as long as possible without washing it! Who seriously has time to be washing, drying and styling their hair every day, not me! If I could leave my hair wet and it would ‘air-dry’ nicely, then maybe I’d wash it daily but with my thick hair, nope.
A dry shampoo is an absolute, hair hero for me! I really like this Dry Shampoo because it doesn’t leave a residue and you can’t feel it in your hair at all, it instants refreshes the hair! I just spray this in to the roots, you can easily re-style your hair after using this, sometimes I find that dry shampoo can leave white patches and you can see where you’ve sprayed it! What would us girls do without dry shampoo ey?!
