I BOUGHT THE GUCCI SOHO DISCO BAG…
I’ve never owned anything from a luxury designer before and since I saw this bag (Gucci Soho Disco) it had barely left my mind. Was this going to be my first ever designer bag? It certainly was.
Compared to some of the other Gucci bags, the £715 price tag it carried seemed somewhat reasonable? But then again, seriously not reasonable. Every time I looked at it, I thought, I could have a nice holiday with that money or I could have a serious ‘shop till I drop’ sesh on the high street. But I’ve had lots of nice holidays and my wardrobe is bursting at the seams anyway.
I had been saving up, but recently I needed all 4 of my car tyres replacing. I knew that I had to prioritise the bloody tyres, so that wiped part of my savings out, but I persisted saving and I got there. I finally took the plunge and purchased the bag online. I didn’t tell anyone at first because, in a weird way, I was slightly embarrassed? My parents are not flashy in the slightest, and I haven’t been bought up to be a brat, so splashing over £700 on a handbag felt a bit excessive.
Some people might be reading this thinking, ‘get over it love, it’s just a small bag’. And yes it is a small bag, and I guess it is at the ‘lower’ price point for designer bags, but this is what I wanted and this is what I could afford. And then I know there will be other people reading this thinking, ‘that is so much to spend on a bag’, I know it is, I really do, but I’ve been basically working 7 days a week and working 2 jobs, so I felt like it was sort of justified.
I don’t feel as guilty as I did when I first purchased it, I’m just going to enjoy using it and look after it! You will be seeing a lot of it, because of course I’m going to want to use it all the time!
It goes so nicely with this gingham trench coat, it just perfectly completes the outfit! I’ve gone for a sweatshirt dress (only £12!!!) with over the knee boots for a smart chic look!
