STYLE // LETS TALK ABOUT AD’S

LAURAS LITTLE LOCKET, LAURA BYRNES

Hello Hello,

I literally CANNOT believe Christmas is next week. I know everyone says it creeps up so quickly but it seriously has this year!

Anyway, tonight is bit of a random post, but an honest one and I wanted to talk about something…

If you follow me on Instagram you’ll notice that recently I have been doing a few ‘ads’. Someone commented on one of my posts saying that they didn’t feel it was genuine anymore, which struck a chord and spurred me on to write this post. I’m actually quite nervous to share this post.

I have been doing a few paid adverts recently, but I have been very selective of which ones I have done. My opinions on the products I received have been honest, as always. For example, last week I posted a Quaker oats porridge ad, but I personally buy and eat porridge for breakfast Monday-Friday anyway. Also, the Smashbox ad, I have used Smashbox before and love the products, and also the Bumble and Bumble post, again, I have used the products before and love them, who doesn’t?! What I’m trying to say is I only do adverts that I think are relevant and genuine.

Not being a huge blogger who gets paid for everything and sent a million items of clothing is tough because you have to fund it yourself which I have been doing for the past 3 years. Being totally honest, the ads help towards funding my blog, this is only a small percentage though and the majority of my blog is still funded by my 9-5.

I can totally assure you that I am very choosy of what adverts I agree to and I do turn down the ones which I don’t think fit my blog, aren’t relevant nor am I interested in.

Maybe you haven’t even noticed, or haven’t even battered an eyelid about it, but I have worked extremely hard to build up my blog over the last few years and would hate for anyone to think it wasn’t genuine anymore, because it is, it really is!

On a lighter note, I absolutely love this outfit! I’ve never owned a faux fur jacket before so I’m feeling super plush in this one! Some faux fur jackets look so thick that they make you look like a Michelin man, but this one hangs really nicely.

Sending lots of festive love,

I think you are fabulous and it’s amazing that you are being paid to do what you love and to promote brands that you love! xxx
