There’s a lot of pressure on us to lead this ideal perfect lifestyle of working out and eating super healthy, having a job that pays enough to buy that handbag you’ve seen on Instagram, a friendship group which you can refer to as ‘squad goals’ and your everyday make up routine nailed in 10 minutes looking like you’ve just had it professionally done. Is that really realistic? Nope. We have to ‘bounce back’ from all of life’s little upsets and we’re so busy rushing around trying to achieve all of the above, that we genuinely forget to look after ourselves.
I hit the ripe old age of 25 this year, and in the last year, I really have noticed changes to my skin. Its not quite as tight, firm nor bright as it used to be! Fine lines have appeared, dullness has set in and it feels like my skin has lost its ‘plump’. I’ve always looked after my skin (sort of) but I’m trying more than ever now. Prevention is better than cure and if I can get in to a good routine now, surely when I’m 40, my skin will thank me, fingers crossed. Admittedly, I don’t eat the healthiest, but I’m not the unhealthiest, however, I think a big factor is that I don’t drink enough water. I love buying make up and spend a lot of money on it, and it seems bit of a waste if I’m not looking after my skin. It all starts from the skin care, make up looks a lot better on good skin!
Healthy skin is made up by a high percentage of water and a lot of us mistake dry skin for dehydrated skin. I have that annoying combination skin, where I get an oily T zone and dry areas, but my main skin problem is hydration…
Recently I’ve been using Neutrogena’s Hydro Boost range, which hydrates your skin every step of the way, from cleansing to moisturising, it keeps our skin hydrated all day long, leaving us with radiant healthy skin.
There are 5 products in the range, my absolute favourites are the Hydro Boost Water Gel Cleanser and the Hydro Boost Water Gel Moisturiser which I use everyday. I’ll give you a quick overview of all of the products as I honestly think it is so easy for you incorporate them to your skin care to add hydration. Its hydration on demand!
First up, there are two moisturisers in the range, Hydro Boost Water Gel and Hydro Boost Gel Cream. These are both suited for all skin types, they’re oil free and lightweight. Both are instantly absorbed in to the skin feeling light, fresh and rejuvenated. Both moisturisers contain a unique Hyaluronic Gel Matrix which instantly locks in intense hydration and continuously releases it as and when your skin needs it throughout the day. I love to slather this on morning and night, it leaves me with a supple base to apply make up.
Hydro Boost Water Gel Cleanser. This has fast become my favourite cleanser! Mix it with a little water, lather up and this has your face feeling baby bottom soft, smelling incredible and feeling new. It’s the perfect ‘wake me up’ in the morning and this is your first shot of hydration of the day.
Hydro Boost Micellar Water. The ole Micellar water has been one of the skin care must-haves over the last few years. I especially enjoy using this one as it doesn’t leave my skin feeling dry and thirsty, which I have often found from other Micellar waters. I use this on cotton pads to remove my make up and then follow up with the Water Gel cleanser, I always double cleanse to ensure every bit of dirt is gone gone gone!
Hydro Boost Facial Cleansing Wipes. Gym bag, overnight stay, or in your handbag, they are perfect for your dose of hydration on the go.
Spend a few extra minutes a day, to look after your skin with Hydro Boost and let it do the hard work all day for you! Remember, throughout the day the moisturisers will release hydration as and when you need it, so thats skin care taken care of!
