I hold my hands up, I definitely don’t clean my make up brushes as often as I should. In all honesty, I probably do them once a month, maybe every three weeks if I’m feeling productive, but they should probably be cleaned every 2 weeks. I use my make up brushes everyday and sometimes I put them in my handbag for top ups throughout the day. Thinking about it, thats a month of products, a month of skin an a month of general bacteria, thats pretty gross.
When I clean my brushes, I always use my trusty Paul Mitchell Shampoo 2. It is a deep cleaning shampoo and has a fresh citrus scent, sgiving them a thorough deep cleanse! I used to clean them on the palm of my hand but after cleaning all of the brushes, my hand was sore from just being scrubbed so much! That is where this super handy little gadget comes in, you simply stick it in the sink and use it as a pad to clean your brushes. It has different textured surfaces to suit all brushes and even an area to refine and comb them back in to place after scrubbing! It has little suckers on underneath which hold it firmly in the sink.
I add a little shampoo, swirl the brush on the pad and keep rinsing until the water runs clean. Then run it over the refining area and leave to dry.
It is a bargain at only £4.99, it makes life a lot easier and quicker to clean those brushes!
