Spring is just aroud the corner and before we know it, we will be ditching our coats to bare our bodies. It’s a daunting thought to think we will have to be getting out those pasty pins, chipped nails and showing that extra bit of Christmas weight we are still carrying.

I have tried to be ahead of the game and kick start my body out in to the Spring/Summer mode. I’ve put together my top 10 essentials that I think will help get you ready for the warmer months coming up!

Exfoilator – I am dying for a good scrub session. Last year I was loving all of the soap and glory scrubs, so I will continue to be using those this year again. We need to prep our skin and this is the first step and my favourite step. Scrub off  all of that dull, dead, old skin and be left with fresh and soft skin.

Moisturiser – Again, I have been indulging in the thick and creamy soap and glory body butters, not to mention the unmissable gorgeous smell. This leaves your skin feeling like a babies bum, its brilliant. If i’m getting my legs out, I dont want any dry areas, especially around the knee’s and ankles’s so I always give myself a generous covering in this!

Tan – in previous years I have been quite a sun bed addict, I’ve always known they are bad for you but I just tended to ignore that. Now I am getting a little older, I really want to look after my skin and using the sun bed is not the way! I may have a couple in the summer but I do get scared using them now. Going down the safer route, I am sticking to my holy grail self-tan which is the L’oreal sublime bronze gel. I’ve been using this for many years and I have tried other self tan products along the way and nothing beats this.

Pastel nail varnish – I know I am banging on about the pastels but I adore the colours! They look great on the nail, there is plenty or choice of colours and will suit all ages. If you wanted to stay subtle, I think the pale pink would be a safe bet but there are lots of colours you could go crazy with!

Perfume – I don’t know if anyone else does this, but my perfumes changes from day to night and by season. In winter they tend to be heavier fragrances and in the summer, more fruity and floral. If you saw my instagram pic a while ago, you’ll know that this has been a staple in my perfume basket for many years now. It is suitable for all year round but this time of year I think it works at its best. It is fairly strong, but it’s sweet, fresh and slightly floral. If you haven’t tried it, go and have a smell. It’s worth it.

Trainers – invest in a comfy pair of trainers! Trainers are very on trend and everyone is wearing them, even on the catwalk! Fashionable and comfy, the best combination ever? Get involved!

Smoothies – Everyone wants to shape up coming up to the summer so I recently have got a smoothie maker. I’m quite a fuss-pot when it comes to food so with the smoothies, I can ‘hide’ things in there! I’m not a great fan of spinach but it has so many health benefits, I put a few handfuls in with some other fruity things and I can’t taste it… but I am getting the goodness from it.

Light weight slippers – I am an all year round slipper wearer. I think I have bad circulation in my feet so my toes are always like little ice blocks! In the winter I have some extra warm cosy thick slippers but in the summer I don’t want anything heavy like that. These little ‘footlet’s are great for the warmer months. You can pick them up in primark for around £2.50. I’ve just got a nice floral pair ready to feel spring like even though I am wearing slippers!

Pinky/peachy blush – Most girls are make-up addicts so dig through your make-up drawers and I’m sure you will find a pinky/peach blush ready to give you pop of colour. It’s the perfect tone for coming up to summer, it’s complimentary on the skin and it’s not too heavy leaving you with a natural glow to your cheeks!

Two Piece/Co-ord – EVERYONE should own one. If you are a regular reader you would have seen that I am head over heels in love with them. They come in many variations of tops, blazers, kimonos, to shorts, skirts and trousers. You can mix and match to suit your needs but I think there is something for everyone. You have no excuse, get shopping if you haven’t got your mitts on one already!

Hope you’ve enjoyed my top 10 spring essentials – I think i might do this every season!

Have you been getting your body in to the spring mode?…. I wish I could live in my PJ’s forever though!

I’ve never followed any blogs until I came across yours.. love it already after reading a few posts! Can I ask what the tan you mention above it like? Is it instant? Price? And if It rains will it come off? X

Hey! Ah wow thank you so much! Hope you enjoy reading 🙂 it’s called loreal sublime bronze gel. It’s in the clear tube (there is a different one in a brown tube) you can get it from tesco, boots, SuperDrug, wilkos etc. It’s under £10. I put it on before bed, let it dry and then have a shower in the morning, just to wash off the smell. It doesn’t run because the gel is clear and I wash it off! It’s really good. I wear gloves to apply as well 🙂 xx
