Coat – Topshop, Jumper – Topshop, Shirt – Topshop, Boots – New Look
As my first style/look post I really wanted to share and put together something that was very ‘me’. I have tried to incorporate all my favourite things in one oufit.
Starting from the bottom, my loves. The boots. When I first saw the Jeffrey Campbell Coltrane’s I was instantly in awe. As I mentioned in my first post I am obsessed and have an unhealthy obsession with chunky shoes and boots. They were perfect, just one thing, the price tag. They held quite a hefty price tag at around 150 english pounds. If they were a traditional boot, a get them out every year boot, then I wouldn’t mind spending that but on a ‘trend boot’ I wasn’t sure how long I would wear these for so I just couldn’t justify buying them. UNTIL, I was browsing Instagram (as always) and discovered trusty New Look did a brilliant dupe at £24.99, what a steal. Straight away they were ordered and mine. I snapped them up September time and if you know me, I pretty much live in these. They are surprisingly super comfy but they squeak! Very strange, you can hear me coming! I think its just the cheaper material rubbing.
I think shorts are really fun to wear. Night or day I think they are a really good alternative to wear, they are definitely a favourite item to me.There is a beautiful tapestry-esqe look to these but the material is satin and lays flat rather than the bulky tapestry material. The colours mix together very well and compliment each other. I reckon I am going to get my moneys worth with these. In the summer they would look lovely with a cami and some tan sandals, but for now in the typical English weather I will need to stick to tights and jumpers with them! There is just something I prefer about wearing shorts, you can go wilder on the dancing! I am joking, but you know what I mean! Maybe its because they bring a little masculinity to the look, which I love. It can tone something really girly down. Don’t get me wrong I enjoying wearing dresses and have plenty of them, I just appreciate a good pair of shorts!
Shirt and jumper. Standard me, this combo works really well together. Both items are great separate but they bring a complete different look when you put them together. Layering is something I seek in an outfit, and this is an easy and effective way to do so. I searched high and low for this jumper. They went out of stock on the internet and couldn’t find it in any shop. I felt like the cat who got the cream when I finally tracked it down in Topshop’s flagship store on Oxford Street. I am a massive fan of textures and the faux fur really bring a little extra to a plain black jumper.
I wasn’t sure if I should jump on the pink coat bandwagon or not. The deciding moment was when I was shopping and saw it for half price. Half price! How could I turn it down. Its more of a corally pink which I prefer and I have got a few different faux fur collars which I can put with it to give it a contrasting flash.
Apologies, I have rambled a lot. I’m new to this! I will try to limit and control my chatter-box self going forward.
Thank you so much for reading, I hope you have enjoyed.
